The FITASC today

The Fitasc today

Situation at the end of 2005

The FITASC registered office has been located at 10, rue de Lisbonne, 75008 Paris, France, since 1973. Tel.: +33 (0) 1 42 93 40 53 and Internet site: www.fitasc.com. It gathers together 55 affiliated national groups.

All the FITASC sporting disciplines (Sporting, Compak Sporting, Universal Trench, ZZ) are the object of annual continental and world championships. In 2005, 28 international championships or Grand-Prix were organized in five continents under its aegis,

Administration

The International Federation is run buy a management committee comprising of the president, four vice-presidents, a general secretary treasurer and 8 members.

The Executive Committee comprises of the President, the four vice-presidents and the General Secretary Treasurer, elected by the General Assembly for a term of four-year.

Technical Commissions, elected in General Assembly, have the responsibility of proposing modifications to the sporting rules, of controlling the organization of the international championships, of adopting shooting calendars, of preparing the possible modifications of rules and all other questions which may be put to them by the Federation’s general assembly. The Commissions proposals must be ratified by the general assembly.

Overview

FITASC believes more than ever that the goal it strives for with such zeal defends the interests of all shooters; furthermore, its actions coupled with the support of its members play an important role in the development and success at international level of the sport which FITASC has overseen since 1921. FITASC’s wide ranging actions and the success of its new disciplines is a testament to the federation’s enterprising and initiative spirit.

The shotgun is a noble sporting weapon that one should be able to use with pleasure when taking part in competitive shooting disciplines of one’s choice. Among the growing number of young shooters that exist at club level, there are young sports men and women who are capable of upholding the reputation of the sport of shooting, and that have the ability to compete at national and international levels.

With that in mind, FITASC needs no better justification for its unstinting continuing efforts for the good of the sport and its members.
