Sporting
The importance of the development and the success of the Sporting discipline quickly became apparent. This discipline and its rules were adopted by FITASC in 1967 and European championships have been held each year since 1968, and World championships since 1979, with a growing success. Until 2005, under the aegis of FITASC, 27 World championships and 38 European championships have taken place.
The spread of the Sporting discipline to American, African, Asian and South Sea countries, led FITASC to create other international competitions: the Pan American, the Pan African and the South Seas, as well as the international Grand-Prix.
The pinnacle of the prestigious annual international events has been 13 World Cups since 1993, comprising of a classification in several championships and at the International Grand-Prix established in 1980.
The passion for the sporting discipline led FITASC in 1993 to organize championships for the handicapped, which rapidly became popular.
